PhD position in molecular protein evolution and protein engineering
We are looking for a candidate for a PhD position in the group, in the area of protein evolution and protein engineering. The goal is to understand the evolutionary forces that shape the structure and sequence of natural protein structures. Using a model of evolution that emphasizes the importance of protein stability in the evolution of protein sequences, the evolution of residue-residue interactions in proteins will be studied experimentally. We will use high-throughput experimental methods to carry out this work and combine it with some bioinformatical approaches.</p>
The candidate should have a strong academic track record, a strong interest in protein stability and structure, an interest in applying automation and engineering principles to protein, and an interest in integrating into a group that does both experimental and computation work.
